Sylvia Cortez, CEO

My name is Sylvia Cortez, I am the CEO of La Mansion Assisted Living Residence in Las Vegas. My family has lived in this beautiful home for the past 14 years. We have decided to downsize and feel that what better way to utilize this home, than convert it to an assisted living residence. The many years of our enjoyment can now be passed on to others.

My daughter, Cindy and her dogs have enjoyed the trails that circle the property. My husband Joe loves his boxing gym, and my mom “Mama” goes her merry way admiring the flowers and the fruits in her daily walks outside. My favorite “hideout” is the theater.

I am also the wife of Joe Cortez for the past 50 ½ years. We have 3 daughters, and 4 incredibly amazing grand-kids. We are a very close knit family who believe in strong family values.

Our vision is to create a caring respectful environment to seniors as they enter into their golden years. As a senior myself I’m looking towards a meaningful future and enjoying this next segment of my life. My Bucket List!

My background is in Resort Hotel Management over 25 year experience as: Social Director, Clubhouse Mgr., and Reservation-operation Mgr., and Co-owner of J&S Vision Screening company. But The Most important career was raising 3 Beautiful Amazing daughters.


Leila Hegle, Administrator

Leila Hegle joined La Mansion Assisted Living as the Executive Director with a passion for helping people, an aspiration to support the Cortez family’s vision, and aims at supporting the senior population in the surrounding Las Vegas areas. She earned a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration covering the Health Services umbrella and gained her Nevada Residential Facility Administrator License after she fell in love with experiencing the wonderful opportunities of how she could connect with and affect a resident’s daily life. She believes that personable customer service with kindness and compassion is key and only wants the best quality care for her residents. She is grateful and honored to be working with the best team to focus on caring for and enhancing the quality of life for each resident as they are an extension of our own families.

Sandy Cortez, CFO

Sandy Cortez began her career in the dental field in New Jersey. She moved to Las Vegas in 1996 and continued to pursue her dental career in many different aspects as well as a Patient Treatment Coordinator, Patient Relations and focused her training as a Financial Administrator. Throughout her twenty year career, she had relationships with Seniors and explained their dental care and finances along with a loving and understanding care to help and educate her patients. After retiring from the dental field, Sandy started to work for her family as a Personal Assistant and Financial Officer. Sandy has been a resident of Las Vegas for the past 20 years and has a Son who is the love of her life and a United States Veteran. She is very family oriented and is very close to her family. Her expertise in financial management has been an asset in the development of La Mansion Luxurious Assisted Living Residence.

Chef Lupe

Guadalupe credits her grandmother and children for her love of cooking.  Growing up, she would spend a great deal of time at her grandmother’s house where the focus was on cooking, which she carried on this passion over to her husband and 4 children who are all involved in the Culinary field.  All her meals were always homemade and Holidays were the perfect time to showcase them.  Chef Lupe brings to La Mansion Assisted Living, her several years of Assisted Living experience and her love of flavor and great taste!  She tells us her secret ingredient for all meals is love; love for what she is doing and most importantly who she is cooking and preparing meals for.

The biggest satisfaction is the reaction on the resident’s face and that huge smile when they take their first bite.  Because “only the finest will do” is our motto and what Chef Lupe strives for every day in the kitchen at La Mansion.

Chris Mirando, Advisor

Chris is one of the most respected Senior Living Industry Advisors, Consultants and Operationally gifted professionals. Having spent more than 16 years in the industry, he has worked in both Residential and Commercial Communities ranging from 6 beds to 300 beds.

He and his teams are responsible for well over $100 million in Residential/Commercial Care Revenues and has owned, operated and managed multiple properties in Regional and Executive roles for some of the Nation’s largest Senior Living Companies such as Brookdale and Oakmont Senior Living.
